Personal Information Disclosure Document

This comprehensive document is designed to meet the stringent requirements of California’s General Duties of Businesses that Collect Personal Information, as mandated by the updated Proposition 24, effective from January 1, 2023.

Categories of Personal Information Collected and Usage of Cookies: Our business accumulates the following categories of personal information: postal address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, Internet Protocol address, internet or other electronic network activity information, including but not limited to browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interaction with an internet website, application, or advertisement, as well as geolocation data, and sensitive personal information.

In addition to this, we also gather information using website cookies. Cookies are small files that a site transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. We use cookies to understand and save your preferences for future visits and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction. This helps us to offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

This information, both personal and collected via cookies, is used for the purposes of maintaining your ability to access our Software, communicating with you, delivering personalized customer service, enhancing your user experience, providing product updates, offering new products or services, and tailoring marketing strategies. We do not sell this information to third parties.

Sensitive Personal Information: We collect the following categories of sensitive personal information: account login information, partial credit card information (maintained by a third-party, such as Stripe), precise geolocation, and any content you enter into our Software. This sensitive information is collected and used for the enhancement of security, provision of personalized services, processing transactions, and to improve the overall user experience. We ensure this sensitive personal information is not sold or shared with third parties.

Retention of Personal Information and Cookies: We retain each category of personal information and cookie data as long as necessary, and only as long as it is directly linked to the active usage of our services. Upon inactivity of an account, we activate a procedure to purge such accounts, thereby ensuring the elimination of associated personal information and cookies in a reasonable time frame.

Third-Party Information Collection: When acting as a third-party collector of personal information or when using third-party cookies, we ensure the required information is conspicuously displayed on the privacy homepage of our website. If we collect personal information on premises, we provide clear and noticeable information at the point of collection.

Use and Sharing of Personal Information and Cookies: Our collection, use, retention, and sharing of your personal information and cookie data are necessary and proportionate to the purposes for which the information was collected. We warrant that this information is not processed in a manner incompatible with these purposes.

Agreements with Third Parties, Service Providers, or Contractors: We have binding agreements with all third parties, service providers, or contractors that receive personal information or cookies from us. Security Procedures: We implement appropriate security procedures and practices, suitable to the nature of the personal information and cookie data collected, to safeguard it from unauthorized or illegal access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure.

Trade Secrets: We acknowledge our legal obligations not to disclose trade secrets according to the California regulations of Section 1798.185

Consumer’s Right to Delete Personal Information: As a consumer, you have the right to request the deletion of any personal information and cookie data we have collected from you. We will remove this data from our records, inform any service providers or contractors to delete your data from their records, and notify all third parties to whom we have not sold or shared your personal information to delete it unless this proves impossible or involves disproportionate effort.

Your Rights(a) Right to Correct Inaccurate Personal Information: You have the right to request a correction of inaccurate personal information or cookie data we hold about you. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will employ commercially reasonable efforts to rectify the inaccurate personal information or cookie data.(b) Right to Know What Personal Information and Cookies are Being Collected: You can request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information and cookie data we’ve collected about you. This includes the categories of sources from which the personal information or cookie data is collected, the business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share personal information or cookie data.(c) Right to Know What Personal Information and Cookie Data is Sold or Shared and to Whom: While we do not sell your personal information or cookie data to third parties, you have the right to know if we’ve shared your data and with whom.(d) Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing of Personal Information and Cookie Data: You can direct us at any time not to share your personal information or cookie data with third parties. We also provide minors under the age of 16 with specific rights regarding the sale or sharing of their personal information or cookie data.(e) Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information: You can direct us to limit the use of your sensitive personal information and cookie data. Our use of such information will be limited to providing services or goods reasonably expected by consumers, unless you give explicit consent for other uses.

Methods for Submitting Requests: We provide you with multiple ways to submit requests for information disclosure, correction, or deletion of your personal data and cookie data. This includes 614-379-2499, email [email protected], and through forms on our website www.ai.law/contact. Please contact us via these channels if you want to make any such requests.

Handling of Requests: Upon receiving a request, we will promptly take steps to determine whether the request is valid and work to respond within 45 days. This period may be extended by an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary, and we will notify you in case of any such extension. We will deliver our response via your account with us if you have one, or by mail or electronically at your option if you don’t maintain an account.

Information Disclosure: We are committed to disclosing and delivering the requested information, correcting inaccurate personal information or cookie data, or deleting your personal information or cookie data based on your valid request. Please note that for requests covering information beyond the 12-month period prior to the request, we will provide the information unless doing so proves impossible or would involve a disproportionate effort.

Third-Party Involvement: We may share your data with service providers or contractors as part of our operations. Please note, these third parties are not required to comply with requests for information disclosure, correction, or deletion that they receive directly from you. However, they are obliged to help us in meeting these requests, including correcting inaccurate information or enabling us to do the same.  We do not engage in third-party marketing practices. Your personal information will not be shared with third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. We value your privacy and are committed to ensuring that your information is used solely for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.

Consumer Rights Information: We maintain a comprehensive section detailing your rights in our online privacy policy or policies and any California-specific description of consumer rights. This includes a description of your rights and two or more designated methods for submitting requests. We update this information at least once every 12 months.

Information Verification: We may require reasonable authentication of the consumer making a request, in light of the nature of the personal information or cookie data requested. Any information we collect for this purpose will be used solely for verification, and not disclosed or retained longer than necessary for this purpose.

Limitations: Please note, we are not obligated to provide the information required more than twice in a 12-month period to the same consumer.

Categories of Personal Information and Cookies: The categories of personal information and cookie data that we collect and process are defined according to Section 1798.140 and are described in the ‘Personal Information Collected’ section of this Privacy Policy.

We respect the exceptions to deletion requests as provided in Proposition 24, in scenarios such as fulfilling a contract, ensuring security, debugging, exercising free speech, complying with laws, and facilitating scientific research among others.

Non-Discrimination Policy: We uphold the principle of non-discrimination. Users exercising their privacy rights under Proposition 24 will not face any form of discrimination. This includes, but is not limited to, denying goods or services, charging different prices or rates for goods or services, providing a different level or quality of goods or services, or suggesting that any of the aforementioned may occur as a result of exercising such rights.

Review and Update of Privacy Policy: Our commitment to your privacy is ongoing. This Privacy Policy will be reviewed and possibly updated on an regular basis as appropriate to ensure it reflects current legal requirements, our data collection and processing practices, and technological advancements. We encourage our users to review our policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting the personal information we collect.

Data Breach Notification: In the unlikely event of a data breach, we are committed to promptly notifying affected individuals and relevant authorities in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This notification will include information about the nature of the breach, the categories of personal information involved, the likely consequences, and the measures taken to address the breach, including efforts to mitigate its possible adverse effects.
